Differences Matter - First vs Third Party SNTs - Purpose, Structure and Creation

Jane Skelton presented at the 2015 Special Needs Trusts National Conference in St. Petersburg, Florida, on October 15, 2015. Stetson University's Center of Excellence in Elder Law has offered the three-day conference for 17 years. There were more than 500 attendees this year.
Jane presented on the alternatives available in special needs planning for individuals with disabilities. Her paper and PowerPoint slides titled Differences Matter - First vs. Third Party SNTs: Purpose, Structure and Creation are available on Maine Elder Law Firm website.
Other offerings at the National Conference addressed the new ABLE accounts, maintaining public housing and Section 8 eligibility for beneficiaries of special needs trusts, SSI and SSDI work incentives, divorce when a spouse or a child is an individual with disabilities, and the new SSA trust review process.
